The whole "mandatory viewing" angle for this sequence makes me wonder if nepotism is involved. Like, Palpatine's son wanted to create a sitcom with musical numbers and this is the only way they could get anyone to watch, and still it failed so bad that Kylo Ren was telling the truth when he said Rey's parents were nobodies.

How sad that her husband couldn't take her being more successful than he was. Imagine losing the father of your children and the love of your life, because he couldn't support you the way you would support him. Too many men are hypocrites in relationships. What a deserved honor. I'll never forget her in the hilarious movie Lovers and Other Strangers when her son was getting a divorce and she said "You know who I blame? The Ecumenical Council!" It would have been funny no matter who said it, but spilling from her lips in that unique voice, it became pure gold. Bea Arthur had no peer in the art of comic delivery. It could only have been a natural gift. R.I.P.

All the Golden Girls, were cast in exactly the right role. The were all amazing, and even today I laugh at their quips.

What a precious soul. To be loved as much as she was and still is is a testament to what a special lady she was.
